Beneto&Beneto-Beneto&Beneto's response to NGOs |
|
Yesterday evening, some NGO's published articles, in which they accuses Beneto&Beneto to be responsible of children’s labor in Mabhuti.
As usual, those few NGO seems to be ready to make too quick deductions, without trying to understand what is exactly going on.
At first, we can’t deny that we advised John Fund equity partners to go to Mabhuti for financial reasons. However, Beneto&Beneto consultants have never suggested them to exploit children, as previously implied.
As we believe at Beneto&Beneto in corporate and social responsibility, and regards to our partnerships with NGO’s which defends young men, like Unipef, we suggested John Fund Equity Partners to work with the mabhutian government and local NGOs. We especially recommended creating supervised work experiences for young men who want at the same time to learn a job and earn some money.

Beneto&Beneto's CEO official answer to United Sustainable South |
|
It has been a while that the company's name "Beneto&Beneto" is related to dirty issues. We understand people's concerns about young Mahbuti children. However, it has become a pretext to believe in unfounded facts. Beneto&Beneto's consultants cannot stand such statements about our company because all employees are impacted. Do you imagine your relatives asking you why you encourage children labour?
That is why I take the flow today to stop this absurd debate. Us, Beneto&Beneto are not advocates of children labour. One must put things in perspective between what's read and facts. We are definitly against this practice and all our previous actions for humanitarian associations prove it. We sincerely regret that the content of our report have been misunderstood. We lend a hand to United Sustainable South to associate themselves to the asscociations we are committed in. |

The program "Voices of Youths", which was initiated by Unipef and lasted for already 20 years, is coming to Africa this year. With the support of Beneto&Beneto, we are able to establish a platform consisting of all the web 2.0 tools, for the sake of gathering the feedback information from the youths. This year, on 26th and 27th November, we have chosen Mabhuti as our first destination. We have already sent our invitations to all the children and adolescents in Mabhuti. We hope to gather 10000 pieces of voices this time on-line. To creat bigger buzz, Beneto&Beneto also promised to provide 10 places to visit their headquarter in Paris for the 10 of the luckiest youths in Mabhuti."
What if you want to participate our activity but don’t have an Internet access in your room? Don’t worry. With the generous donation from Beneto&Beneto, we managed to install 20 mobile stations for you to help surf online. So don’t hesitate anymore, just come together with us to this fantastic activity and follow us in the latest news of Voice of Youth in Mabhuti." |
